Live from Boston: Harry and David Considers Points system

Harry and David is considering implementing a points-based customer loyalty program.

Director of Marketing Mike Zodrow told attendees at a session on back-end strategies Wednesday at the Catalog Conference that this was one of the ways the specialty foods cataloger was looking at fine-tuning customer retention.

Zodrow noted that the company’s marketing and merchandising departments work together to tailor merchandise offers to segments of its 1.7 million name customer file to increase lifetime value.

“Customer retention involves all parts of our organization,” he said.
