Claritas Launches Updated Data Segmentation System
Claritas Inc. has introduced a new version of its ConneXions NE demographic segmentation system developed for the telecommunications industry.
It replaces a six-year-old ConneXions system at a critical time when wireless, cable television, satellite and Internet technologies are converging, according to Keith Peterson, chief operating officer at Claritas.
The segmentation system differentiates households based on 2,000 types behavioral data obtained from surveys of more than 125,000 households. It classifies all households into 53 consumer segments and 10 life stage groups, based on their propensity to purchase new technologies.
Data is gathered to identify consumer segments considered most likely to respond to specific kinds of product offers. Such information is sourced from Claritas’ Convergence Audit and Media Research Inc.’s Survey of the American Consumer.
