Magna Publications Inc. has appointed Hippo Direct to oversee a portfolio with 11 subscription files. All target individuals concerned with college education and university life. Academic Leader is the largest publication with 7,039 subscribers and targets university professionals, including deans and chairpersons. The smallest title with 797 subscribers is GLBT Campus Matters, a publication for administrators that focuses on safety and discrimination issues related to gay and lesbian students. Recent former subscribers are included in all the files. Direct mail is the source. Magna formerly managed its lists in-house.

Three Promoted; Seven Join Statlistics
Statlistics has promoted three individuals and hired seven other new people. Brian Manning moved up to vice president of sales. Turker Hassan has been promoted to interactive manager and Matthew Cruz was recently promoted to account manager in the interactive department. Joan Serrecchia, Kerry Cuneo and Maryam D’Jahanmir were hired as account managers in the postal list management division. Michael Platt was named as an account manager in the interactive department. Theresa DeMilo is starting at Statlistics as an account manager for brokerage and compiled list sales. Jeff Maccarone joined the firm as a marketing assistant. Laura Aquino was named as an accounting representative.
