[Re: Loose Cannon: Time to Take Candy from Babies, Direct Newsline, October 31, 2005]:

I think that in your zeal for ending Halloween, you’re missing out on a great opportunity for additional profits. It’s time to really take candy from every baby.

Your cooption stage is brilliant but needs to be extended. You need to offer incentives for valid names of those who also want candy. At this point you have a list building machine that can turn every kid into a long distance buyer. They can also be used to promote a nation-wide search for prospects. Once they have an appreciation of the elegance of operations and fulfillment systems it could be a gold mine.

The only time reeducation will be needed is for the health nuts and anti-obesity zealots who will need to then know that candy is only for kids. Hope these tips make you a huge fortune with your plan.

I love it. You are a real lunatic.

Our post office has one long wall of tables and one-foot deep windowsills with huge garbage cans next to them. Everybody picks up their mail and sorts through it right there and throws half of it away before they even leave the post office. As a direct marketer, it makes me weep! Marian Savage
