[Re: Loose Cannon: Super Bowl Predictions, Direct Newsline, Jan. 29, 2007 (directmag.com/loosecannon/loose_cannon_superbowl)]:

Hopefully, the buzz is the sound of the Colts being attacked and finished off after their win. That way true contenders like the Patriots won’t have put up with all the hand wringing and sportscaster angst over “can Payton win the big one.” Who cares?

My only possible interest in this Super Bowl will be how stupidly wasteful the ads will be. I have high hopes for this season’s ads.

The chosen ad will be A) funny, B) a waste of money if used more than once, and C) have enough PR generated by news media so that we don’t have to listen to media fables about how the “Runner with the hammer ad” created the success of Apple.

I’m afraid that it will catch on and have future consumer created ads assault the air waves and ruin our TV experiences. Who knows, it may create a surge in TiVo purchases and inadvertently kill TV advertising forever. Then what’ll happen to the Super Bowl?
