Lazarus Named Marketer of the Year

Shelly Lazarus, chairman and CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, has been named “Marketer of the Year,” by the board of the DMD Marketing Conference and Expo New York.

She will be recognized for the achievement at the 37th annual DMD Marketing Conference luncheon on June 17 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

The award is presented to an individual who has contributed outstanding service to the marketing community.

“Shelly Lazarus is an amazing woman who has dedicated her career at Ogilvy to big ideas and to creativity in service of the long-term value of brand,” Chuck Cavanagh, president of the conference said in a statement.

Lazarus began her career at Ogilvy & Mather in 1971. She has played pivotal roles on virtually all of the agency’s signature accounts, such as American Express, IBM, Kraft, Mattel and Unilever.
