Kmart Corp. has launched Urban Direct, an entertainment and lifestyle newspaper supplement featuring interviews, articles and product offerings of interest to urban communities.
The supplement debuted Feb. 2 and included an initial distribution on 1 million copies circulated in nine markets: Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, East Brunswick, NJ, Long Island, New York, Miami, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
The publication is expected to reach more than 2.7 million urban customers each month.
Kmart recently launched its first Spanish-language newspaper publication, La Vida.
