Kellogg Ups Baynes to Marketing Role

Kellogg Co. has promoted Global Chief Marketing Officer Mark Baynes to vice president of the global leadership team effective immediately.

In his new role, Baynes is in charge of overseeing the company’s brand-building initiatives, as well as ensuring that worldwide marketing efforts are closely aligned with Kellogg’s long-term, strategic growth objectives. The promotion comes about a year after Baynes took the global chief marketing officer title, the firm said.

Baynes started his 18-year career with Kellogg in 1990 as senior brand manager in the U.K. He was elevated to different marketing posts during that time, most recently as chief marketing officer for Kellogg North America and global coordinator in January 2007.

Kellogg also announced a number of other executive moves and changes.

Jeff Montie, executive vice president, Kellogg Co., and president of Kellogg International, global innovation, marketing and sales is leaving the company after more than 20 years. A replacement has not yet been named.

Brad Davidson, senior vice president, Kellogg Co. and president of Kellogg U.S. Snacks and Canada was promoted to senior vice president and president of Kellogg North America. He joined the company in 1984 and held a number of sales leadership positions in Canada and the U.S.

Paul Norman, Kellogg’s senior vice president and president of U.S. Morning Foods has been named senior vice president and president of Kellogg International. He joined the company in 1987 and held leadership roles in Canada, Mexico and the U.K. Meanwhile, Kellogg named John Bryant, the firm’s executive vice president, chief financial officer and president of Kellogg North America as chief operating officer. He retains the CFO position in addition to his new role, the company said.

Kellogg also promoted Juan Pablo Villalobos, the firm’s former senior vice president and president of Kellogg Latin America, to senior vice president and president of U.S. Morning Foods. Todd Penegor, the CFO of Kellogg Europe has been named vice president of Kellogg Co. and president of Kellogg U.S. Snacks. He also will join the company’s leadership team.

The promotions are effective immediately, Kellogg said.
