Keith McCracken named CEO of GEM

The GEM Group has promoted Keith McCracken to chief executive officer. The appointment took effect June 3.

McCracken replaces Rick Jones, who left the company when his contract ended in May to pursue other interests, a spokesperson said. Most recently, McCracken worked as president of GEM North America.

In his new position, McCracken will oversee the company’s nine-office worldwide network offering consulting, brand development, package design, promotion marketing, direct marketing and event marketing across three core areas: marketing communications, sports and entertainment. The company employs more than 200.

Clients include 3M, the A&E Network, Bell Canada, Coca-Cola, Diageo, Fingerhut, General Motors, Procter & Gamble and United Parcel Service.

McCracken had founded McCracken Brooks, a promotion agency in Minneapolis, 20 years ago.
