The CEO of Neiman Marcus Direct has been named president and CEO of the Neiman Marcus Stores.
Karen Katz will oversee merchandising, store operations, marketing, advertising and distribution and report to Burton M. Tansky, president and CEO of parent company The Neiman Marcus Group, the company said.
Katz replaces Gerald A. Sampson, who is retiring Dec. 31. A replacement for Katz is expected to be named shortly.
Katz, a 17-year company veteran, held a number of positions with the company including executive vice president for the stores.
