Jack Oldstein, 81, a pioneer in the list business, died on Sunday in Broward, FL. Oldstein founded Dependable Lists Inc. in the 1950s, which through acquisitions and name changes is today known as Specialists Marketing Services Inc.
He retired from direct marketing many years ago. He sold Dependable Lists in 1985.
“Jack was a great guy who loved life. He had a passion for the list business. I’d say he was a workaholic who was well liked by his employees and clients,” said Lon Mandel, CEO and president of Specialists.
Survivors include two daughters and one son. Services are planned for Wed. at 10 a.m. in Valhalla, NY. Riverside Memorial Chapel, Mt. Vernon, NY, will be handling the arrangements.
