His & Hers Bowling Alley Headlines Neiman Marcus Christmas Catalog

A four-lane bowling and entertainment center, including large-screen video scoring monitors, self-diagnostic pin systems, movable seating banquettes, 36 regulation balls, his-and-hers bowling shoes and a fully equipped entertainment is only one of the gifts featured in the 2004 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book.

If the bowling alley’s $1.45 million price tag is a bit higher than Santa’s pockets are deep, alternative gifts include a limited edition Maserati Quattroporte for $125,000, a $20,000 custom suit of armor, or a Swarovski-crystal-encrusted Mr. And Mrs. Potato Head, at $8,000 each. (The catalog does not suggest buying both and competing against ‘em with your significant other on the four-lane bowling alley, which is a missed cross-selling opportunity on the Dallas-based marketer’s part.)

These and a host of other items are found within the catalog’s 152 pages. Neiman Marcus will be sending out 2 million copies of the book to both domestic and international targets. Non-recipients may order a copy for $15 by calling 1-800-Neimans.

As it does every year, Neiman Marcus has designated several offerings within the catalog as philanthropic items. This year, the company’s charity of choice is Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancers (http://www.spohnc.org).
