A new marketing company with more than $150 million in billings has been formed by Hawkeye Communications, New York.

The entity, FFwd North America, which opened its doors last Friday in Minneapolis, is a marketing, consulting and communications company built on a direct marketing platform.

The new company includes the original FFwd Minneapolis, which debuted 15 months ago as the North American arm of U.K.-based FFwd, and four other firms acquired or launched by Hawkeye since last fall.

The four are, the Marketing Continuum, an agency specializing in brand promotion; the Convergency, a full-service, data-driven direct marketing company; DPS Creative, which focuses on retail in-store promotions; and a start-up, FFwd Avon, CO, whose executives, formerly of Agency.com, are expert in a range of interactive services.

Forming one company “brings more synergy of focus of solutions in the marketplace. [It enlarges] the whole premise of Hawkeye, which was intimate customer information leads to better, quicker customer solutions,” said G. Steven Dapper, chairman of Hawkeye, emphasizing the detail of FFwd’s customer database.

Micheal Zemen is the CEO of FFwd. In addition to the Minneapolis headquarters, the new agency has offices in Dallas; Charlotte, NC; Denver; Avon; and Chicago. Clients include Blockbuster, Bank of America, Alltel, Schwan’s, Kmart and Sun Microsystems.

European operations are headquartered in London and have client billings of more than $250 million.
