Havas To Continue U.S. Buying Spree

Havas Advertising, which recently bought Snyder Communications for $2.1 billion, will continue acquiring agencies in this country, according to Patrick Lemarchand, chairman and chief executive officer, North American operations of Havas’s Diversified Agencies Division.

The next acquisition will be an agency specializing in customer relationship management, he told DIRECT Newsline yesterday. He declined to name the shop since the companies were still negotiating, but did say, “Definitely we have not stopped acquisitions. There are companies out there that could enhance or fill in some niche or provide better service or new clients.”

Meanwhile Euro RSCG Worldwide, a unit of Havas Advertising Group, Paris, acquired The Tyee Group, the DRTV specialists, for The Sales Machine, Euro RSCG’s branded marketing services group.

Of the shops Havas acquired with Snyder, Lemarchand predicted 15% to 20% growth for Brann Worldwide and “much more from Circle.com.”
