Germany Clamps Down On Net Access Charges

Germany’s telecommunications regulator has ruled that former phone monopoly Deutsche Telekom AG must offer competing Internet providers telephone connections at the same rates it charges its own customers, paving the way for greater competition, according to a Reuters report.

Responding to complaints from a number of Internet companies, Klaus-Dieter Scheuerle, president of the Regulating Authority for Telecommunications and Posthe, ruled that Telekom must offer them telephone connections at the same price it charges its own T-Online subsidiary.
