Gatorade has promoted Jeff Urban to senior vice president of sports marketing. The post takes effect April 1.
Urban will succeed Tom Fox, who is leaving this month after 16 years of service with Gatorade.
Most recently, Urban, 43, was the sports marketing director for Gatorade. In his new role, he will assume leadership of the Gatorade business unit’s sports strategy and property management including league, team and athlete relations.
The energy drink’s roster of sports partnerships includes the NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, WNBA, AVP, NHL, US Soccer, Major League Soccer, and other professional, collegiate and amateur teams throughout the world, the company said.
Athlete partners include Peyton Manning, Derek Jeter, Mia Hamm, Dwyane Wade and Michael Jordan.
Gatorade is part of PepsiCo’s Chicago-based Quaker Tropicana Gatorade division.
