Maura Mottolese, a former Revlon and Snapple marketing executive, has been named president of The Switch Beverage Co.
The appointment brings Mottolese full circle to her beverage roots, BevNet reports. The Stamford, CT-based company got its name in an attempt to get consumers to “switch” to the company’s eight flavored drinks.
The company was formed in 2001. Luther King Capital Management, a Fort Worth, TX-based investment firm bought The Switch in 2005, according to BevNet.
Most recently, Mottolese worked as senior vice president-marketing at Revlon. In September, the company cut 250 jobs, including Mottolese’s and other marketing posts, after reporting disappointing sales (PROMO Xtra, Sept. 27,2006).
Prior to that, Mottolese worked as vice president-marketing for Snapple in 1999 overseeing product development. She joined the firm in 1997 where she led the new products division. Before joining Snapple, Mottolese worked in field marketing and brand management at Cadbury Schweppes overseeing such brands as A&W Root Beer and Hires.
The Switch is a carbonated 100% fruit juice beverage that uses no preservatives or sugar. Mottolese reports to The Switch CEO Brian Boyd.
