Former Nike Exec Picked to Lead Coors Brewing

Coors Brewing Co. has named Frits van Paasschen, a former Nike executive, as its president and CEO.

He will be responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s U.S. operations and performance. He reports to Leo Kiely, CEO of Molson Coors Brewing Co., of which Coors Brewing is a subsidiary.

Most recently, Van Paasschen worked for Nike as corporate VP and general manager of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this post he is credited with increasing revenues from just over $2.5 billion to nearly $4 billion in four years.

“Frits is joining us at a great time,” Kiely said. “With the Molson Coors merger now complete, we are entering an exciting time for the company and I can confidently hand off the role of U.S. president to Frits and dedicate my full energy to my new role as CEO of Molson Coors.”
