Packaged bakery goods firm Flower Foods has named Allen L. Shiver as executive vice president and chief marketing officer, a new position.
In his role, Shiver, 51, oversees the company’s national sales team, as well as marketing, product innovation and category management/consumer insights. The post went into effect immediately. He had been with Flowers Foods since 1979, most recently as president and chief operating officer of the specialty group.
The company also named Gene D. Lord as executive vice president and chief operating officer and Bradley K. Alexander as president of Flowers Bakeries. Lord. 61, who joined the firm in 1966, most recently was president and chief operating officer of the bakeries group. Alexander, 49, who was regional vice president of the bakeries operation now oversees the company’s operations, including fresh breads and rolls, frozen breads and rolls, and snack cake bakeries.
Flower Foods is a top producer and marketer of packaged bakery foods for retail and foodservice customers. Its brands include Nature’s Own, Cobblestone Mill, Sunbeam, Blue Bird and Mrs. Freshley’s.
