Neiman Marcus Direct reported $139 million in revenues for the first quarter of fiscal year 2006, compared to $140 million for the same quarter last year.
Current first quarter sales increased 10.4% compared to the first quarter of fiscal year 2005–when figures for Chef’ Catalog are excluded. The company sold the Chef’s Catalog in November 2004.
Operating earnings were $15 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2006, compared to $11 million in the prior year, representing a 29% increase.
The company reported a pre-tax loss of $15.3 million in connection with Chef’s Catalog sale, compared to the first quarter of the last fiscal year.
