Facebook’s Q3 2012 Earnings: $1.26 in Revenue, 1.01 Billion Monthly Active Users

Facebook likeFacebook has reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2012, and they’ve sent its shares soaring in after-hours trading. The social network boasted $1.26 billion in revenue in the third quarter, up 32 percent year-over-year. Advertising accounted for $1.09 billion, or 86 percent of total revenue for the quarter. Payments and other fees revenue was $176 million. Facebook also shared that it now has 1.01 billion monthly active users (MAUs) as of Sept. 30; 584 million daily active users as of September; and 604 million mobile MAUs as of Sept. 30.
