According to Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook Offers have been claimed by nearly 42 million unique users since it launched last year. During the fourth-quarter earnings call Wednesday she also noted that the cost per redemption for marketers compared favorably to other channels, such as email, paid search and display. Back in October, Facebook noted that about 75 percent of offers claims occurred after a user saw a story in their news feed about a friend who purchased the offer, highlighting the viral/social nature of these offers.
The social network noted that the number of business pages advertising on Facebook nearly doubled since the beginning of 2012. Facebook also reported that nearly 500,000 pages have used promoted posts, with 30 percent being new advertisers on the social network and 70 percent being repeat advertisers.
