The Information Solutions unit of Orange, CA-based Experian has laid off 150 employees, or roughly 10% of the unit’s workforce, a spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.
The layoffs, which were announced internally on Monday, did not affect Experian’s CRM business, the e-commerce business, the direct marketing unit or Decisions Solutions, its analytics division. Most of the layoffs came at either the company’s Orange, CA headquarters, or its New York or Illinois offices.
The staff reductions were made with an eye toward increasing operation efficiencies, streamlining internal processes, and improving the company’s responsiveness to marketplace demands, the spokesperson said.
Experian will also be examining the division’s offerings, and will eliminate products that no longer meet marketplace needs.
“We are going to take a look at the product load and the ones that aren’t really serving our clients in their current configuration, we will either retool or eliminate them,” the spokesperson said.
Decisions on how many, or which of the hundreds of products the division produces will be eliminated have not yet been announced.
