EastWest Buys Ad Agency

EastWest Creative last week bought ad agency Bezos/Nathanson Marketing Group to expand its marketing disciplines. Terms were not disclosed.

EastWest’s long-term growth plan centers on offering integrated, discipline-neutral marketing work. Adding ad capabilities helps further that.

Principals Mark Bezos and David Nathanson both join EastWest’s New York headquarters. (The shop also has offices in Los Angeles, East Hanover, NJ, and Tarrytown, NY, the latter two serving Kraft Foods.) Bezos/Nathanson drops its name and moves into EastWest’s office space; staff for the combined agency is 100.

New York-based Bezos/Nathanson brings clients including Cendant, New York City Economic Development Corp. and Jet Airways. There is no conflict with EastWest clients, including Cadbury Schweppes, Discovery Kids, Fujifilm, Nintendo, Paramount, Reckitt Benckiser, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.

“This was an ideal opportunity to enhance what we do with what Bezos/Nathanson is uniquely suited to— breakthrough creative advertising against solid strategic thinkingm” said EastWest CEO Chris Bragas in a statement. The purchase gives EastWest “greater ability to provide clients with true idea-based, media-neutral marketing, executable in any forum or format.”
