Interpublic Group of Cos. will sign an exclusive consulting deal and take a minority interest in an entertainment-marketing agency run by former IPG executive Mark Dowley.
Dowley is head of Endeavor Marketing, a division of talent agency The Endeavor Agency. IPG let Dowley go when the holding company folded its Sports & Entertainment Group (which Dowley headed) in October 2003. Dowley then joined Beverly Hills, CA-based Endeavor to form its marketing arm. He also had served as CEO of Momentum Worldwide’s New York office in the late 1990s.
Now Dowley will consult with IPG-owned agencies, especially FCB, and is prohibited from working with any IPG competitor. IPG owns promotion shops Draft, Jack Morton Worldwide, Marketing Drive, Momentum Worldwide, Octagon and Zipatoni.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
