Online advertising agency DoubleClick Inc., New York, has made an arrangement with privacy and data protection consulting firm the Privacy Council, to let its clients use the Privacy Council’s services, especially those relating to the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P).
P3P is a tool developed by Microsoft that automatically screens Web sites according to privacy policies.
“P3P implementation is a powerful way to automatically give users notice of a Web site’s practices and give them more control over the technologies used at a particular site,” said Jules Polonetsky, chief privacy officer, DoubleClick, in a statement.
