Shawn Donnelley, manager of political affairs for Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co., polled second in a field of 10 to secure the Republican nomination in Illinois’ 10th congressional district. The winner of the nomination, Mark Kirk, was endorsed by retiring 10th district congressman John Porter. Kirk had previously been one of Porter’s aides. The primary was held March 21.
Donnelley was not available at deadline to comment on her future plans.
The Democratic primary was uncontested, with the nomination going to state representative Lauren Beth Gash.
