Walt Disney Co. executive Michael Mendenhall has been named senior vice president and chief marketing officer for HP.
In his new role, Mendenhall will handle HP’s corporate marketing operations globally, including brand marketing, customer intelligence and corporate communications. The position takes effect Oct. 1.

He is in charge of global brand image, marketing strategy, planning, publicity, advertising, media, new media/online, interactive TV, strategic alliance marketing, special events and promotions and customer-managed activities.
He was part of the team that created one of Disney’s global marketing campaigns themes, Where Dreams Come True (Promo Xtra, June 8, 2006).
Details on Mendenhall’s replacement at Disney were unavailable.
HP has revenue totaling $100.5 billion for the four fiscal quarters ended July 31.
