Discovery Channel has promoted Mary Clare Baquet to VP-marketing for the Discovery Channel. The 11-year veteran had been executive editor for on-air marketing.
In her new role, Baquet will work as the creative director for the Discovery Channel. She will help oversee all on-air, off-air and guerilla marketing efforts for key programming and network initiatives as well as the overall graphic look of the network. In addition, she will be heavily involved in the network’s ongoing “Entertain Your Brain” brand marketing efforts.
Baquet helped spearhead campaigns for such programs as Walking with Dinosaurs, Raising the Mammoth, Walking with Prehistoric Beasts and Nefertiti Resurrected.
