Combined Internet and catalog sales for the first quarter ending April 30 at J. Crew Group Inc. increased 59% and reached $59 million, while the company generated $5 million in overall net income.
Last year J. Crew reported $37 million in online and catalog sales and a net loss of $24 million in the first quarter.
Overall operating income for all marketing channels was $23 million in the most recent first quarter, compared to $3 million lost during the first quarter of 2004.
