Delia’s Cuts Loss, Boosts Sales

Delia’s Corp. reported a net loss of $3.2 million for the third quarter, down from $42.7 million a year ago.

Sales for the period ended Nov. 3 were $32.5 million, an 18.5% increase from $27.4 million the comparable quarter in 2000.

“While the business clearly felt the impact of September’s attacks, we saw an encouraging customer response to our merchandise offerings and brand repositioning in the third quarter,” said president Andrea Weiss, in a statement.
