Damart UK, England, has discontinued its U.S. catalog offering comfortable, warm underwear and clothing for men and women after response and revenue trailed off.
The last catalog mailed last month. Orders are still being taken and returns or exchanges will be honored through June, said Ed Keehan, Damart’s director of operations.
“Along with everybody else, sales have been off and it hasn’t been profitable,” Keehan said of the 30-year-old catalog.
The firm’s Web site at www.damartusa.com was still active yesterday.
Upon notification that the catalog was discontinuing operations, Damart’s list management firm NRL Direct, Cresskill, NJ, began offering the catalog buyers’ file for unlimited usage at four times the basic rate or $340 per thousand names. A 10% broker commission applies to unlimited usage orders, NRL Direct said.
