Imperial Home Decor modernizes its telemarketing setup

When Imperial Home Decor Group Inc. emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection two months ago, the firm realized it had to modernize its teleservices operations.

Cleveland-based Imperial, formed in 1998 from the merger of Imperial Wallcoverings Inc. and Borden Decorative Products, reported $374 million in sales for 2000. The company is also said to hold a 40% share in the wall coverings market.

Imperial can be expected to spend months reviewing new teleservices technologies and applications before investing more money in its 50-station center.
