Citigroup Eyes New Agency for Branding Campaign

Financial services giant Citigroup, based in New York, has asked Y&R Advertising — its principal direct response advertising agency — and a select group of agencies to compete for a U.S. Citi brand campaign and Citibank’s U.S. consumer advertising.

“We will deploy a small, but highly focused, roster of agencies to support the expanding needs of Citigroup’s consumer businesses,” said Citigroup executive Marjorie Magner, in a statement. “Young & Rubicam will still be responsible for a significant component of the consumer bank’s global direct marketing efforts and consumer advertising outside of the U.S.
