Chrysler has named Deborah Wahl Meyer as its vice president and chief marketing officer.
Meyer, 44, is currently vice president of marketing for Toyota Motor Sales USA’s Lexus division, where she’s been for the past six years.
She will direct global marketing and advertising initiatives for the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands. Meyer will also oversee all sales and promotional events, and provide strategic direction for the company worldwide. The position takes effect Aug. 28.
Prior to her current post at Toyota, she held a number of marketing positions at Ford Motor Co.
She replaces George Murphy, who retired from his post as senior vice president for global brand marketing at Chrysler in May.
