Cataloger and retailer Chico’s FAS Inc. reported net sales for the third quarter ended November 2 of $137.3 million, compared to $94 million for the quarter ended November 3, 2001, a 46.1% increase.
Net sales by catalog and Internet were $3.86 million for the 13 week period, compared to $2.67 million for the same period last year.
Net income for the company rose 74.7% to $15.5 million, compared to $8.9 million for the third quarter of 2001. Comparable store sales for company-owned stores increased 18.2% for period.
For the nine months ended November 2, net sales increased 41.9% to a record $392.8 million from $276.7 million for the prior year’s nine months ended November 3, 2001. Net catalog and Internet sales for the 39 week period were $10.9 million, versus $7.3 million for the same period in 2001.
Net income rose 59.7% to $51.7 million, compared of $32.4 million, for the same period last year. Comparable store increased 14.4%.
