Chevrolet’s ad agency has offered a job to the college student that created Chevy’s Super Bowl spot.
Campbell-Ewald will hire University of Wisconsin student Katie Crabb, whose idea won Chevy’s “Super Bowl College Ad Challenge” (PROMO Xtra, Sept. 13, 2006). Campbell-Ewald produced the spot, “Car Wash,” based on Crabb’s idea, and Chevy ran the ad during the Super Bowl.
Campbell-Ewald creative directors helped Chevy marketing execs judge the entries.
“We’re always on the lookout for creative talent, and we’re excited to invite Katie to join Campbell-Ewald after graduation,” said chief creative officer Bill Ludwig in a statement. “She’ll already have a Super Bowl spot under her belt. Not many recent college graduates can say that.”
Chevy ran the contest to build awareness of its youth-oriented models Aveo, Cobalt, Equinox and HHR among college students. The automaker fielded entries from students at 225 colleges and universities.
