Chase Tops 2006 Acquisition Mail List, Says Mintel

Posted on by Chief Marketer Staff

Chase bank sent out the most financial services acquisition direct mail pieces in 2006, with 1.7 billion pieces, according to market research firm Mintel Comperemedia. Next on the list was Capital One with 1.2 billion pieces; American Express, with 1 billion; Citibank, with 980 million and Bank of America, with 920 million pieces.

In addition, many smaller financial services companies are turning more and more to e-mail to make acquisition offers, largely because of its lower cost, reported Mintel.

“E-mail marketing has been able to serve as a more affordable option for smaller, lesser-know companies that need to reach new consumers,” said Carmen Curran, company analyst, in a statement.

“Major financial services companies continue to take advantage of e-mail as well, but they have stronger resources to market through direct mail and other key channels.”
