Chadwick’s to Ax 300 Positions

Apparel cataloger Chadwick’s of Boston will cut about 20% of its workforce, or 300 jobs, beginning in May because of declining sales, according to reports.

The staff reductions will take place at its facilities in West Bridgewater and Taunton, MA.

The company first will reduce personnel through a voluntary resignation program, with cash incentives and benefits continuation, then layoffs.

“The company regrets this action, but believes it is necessary to better position itself,” said Diane Caroselli, vice president of human resources, in a statement.
