CBS Interactive is boosting online activity with some new blood, naming Patrick Keane as executive vice president, chief marketing officer.
In his new role, Keane, the former head of ad sales strategy at Google, Inc., will oversee marketing and sales of CBS content on emerging media platforms and help grow the company’s advertising base. In addition, he will help manage CBS Interactive’s online research, reporting and analytics and competitive research, as well as sales training and search engine optimization.
Keane will report to Quincy Smith, president of the newly-formed division.
“Patrick brings rare business intelligence and a wealth of relationships that will help us monetize all future platform opportunities,” Smith said in a statement. “He is widely considered an industry expert in online distribution and marketing, and his transition to an audience company like CBS is a testament to our commitment to partner with technology companies worldwide.”
Keane worked for more than four years at Google where he grew the company’s advertising base. Prior to that, he worked as vice president and senior analyst at JupiterResearch.
