CatalogCity.com and Altura Software have formed Altura International, which combines CatalogCity’s merchant content with Altura’s operating system. The companies claim the mix creates a platform for an international network of customized online shopping malls.
Altura, soon to be based in Monterey, CA, is partly funded by Bill Gates and Yahoo!. The OS technology also powers XOOM.com, Go.com, Gifts.com, and NetDeals.com, among others, including Yahoo! Shopping and Quixtar.
