The Talbots Inc. has posted a first quarter net sales increase of 6% despite a slight decline in catalog revenue.
The Hingham, MA-based retailer reported catalog sales of $65.6 million, compared with $65.8 million during the same 13-week period last year. The quarter ended on May 3.
Overall company sales totaled $419 million, up from $395 million last year. Net income rose to $33.3 million, compared with $29.4 million in 2003.
