Catalog Marketing Services to Buy Prefer Network

Catalog marketing and list processing service Catalog Marketing Services(CMS), St. Paul, MN, plans to acquire the assets of Prefer Network, New York.

Both companies are expected to operate independently and will continue joint product development and marketing for the consumer catalog industry, an alliance formed earlier this year.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Prefer Network will remain at its New York headquarters. CEO Doug Platt and president Richard Black will continue in their positions. CMS CEO Ken Johnson, and president Pat Minton will also continue in their roles. No changes are expected to existing management and organizational structures, the companies said.

CMS is a privately-held company founded in 1982. It provides a range of services including marketing and database services, e-commerce, list processing and address hygiene services.

Privately-held Prefer Network maintains a collaborative database that includes SKU-level product detail. The company was founded in 1999.
