The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York has approved Canton, MA-based Casual Male Corp.’s motion to close 80 of its retail locations, according to wire services.
The company, formerly known as J. Baker Inc., also operates the Casual Male, Repp and Repp Premiere catalogs, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on May 18. In mid-July it received a $135 million credit facility from a group that included Fleet Financial Retail Inc. and Back Bay Capital Funding LLC. Part of the funds were earmarked for its catalog operations.
