CareerTrack’s Closing Has DMers Job Hunting

CareerTrack Inc., Boulder, which provides corporate training seminars, is leaving its Boulder home base and putting about 30 to 40 direct marketing professionals–mostly in creative and marketing–in the job hunting category, according to a source.

CareerTrack’s parent, ETC, a subsidiary of cable-TV giant TCI Ventures, is selling its majority interest to a Washington, DC-based venture capital firm, Thayer Capital Partners, according to Boulder newspaper Daily Camera. Thayer has also acquired a majority interest in Pryor Resources Inc., Shawnee Mission, KS, one of CareerTrack’s largest competitors. Thayer plans to combine CareerTrack’s operations with Pryor, forming a new company to be based in Shawnee Mission.
