Suncom Telecommunications Inc., Vancouver, British Columbia, has signed an agreement to acquire CallDirect Enterprises Inc. from CallDirect Capital Corp., a direct mail catalog company in Delta, British Columbia. The acquisition was made for a combination of cash and stock.
CallDirect is a direct mail catalog company that sells a variety of high-tech products including headsets, telephones, and automotive and computer accessories. It has a distribution agreement with Hello Direct Inc., San Jose, CA, to sell its products in Canada. CallDirect reported revenue of $1.4 million for the fiscal year ended Aug. 30, 1998.
Suncom said it will bring CallDirect’s billing, collection, customer service and fulfillment needs into its existing call center, creating economies of scale and cost savings resulting in increased profit margins.
