HIT Entertainment has appointed Bill Burke as VP-brand management. The position was effective Nov. 28.
In this newly created position, Burke oversees brand development for HIT Entertainment’s premiere properties Barney and the Wiggles, in addition to a portfolio of brands from the Jim Henson Co., including Fraggle Rock and Animal Jam. HIT Entertainment acts as the worldwide representative for the Jim Henson Co.
Burke is based out of the company’s New York office and reports to Jamie Cygielman, senior VP-consumers products for HIT Entertainment.
In appointing Burke to the position, Cygielman said in a statement Burke’s “background in and deep knowledge of marketing, licensing and retail development provide long term strategic growth opportunities for our key brands.”
Burke joins HIT Entertainment after working five years at Sesame Workshop, where he most recently served as assistant VP-marketing, global consumers products. In that role, Burke led the company’s international marketing team to create integrated brand strategic for Sesame Street consumer products. He also helped developed and implement international programs for Sesame Beginnings, which included key partnerships with top international retailers.
Prior to that role, Burke worked as director, marketing, global consumer products and director, business development for Sesame Workshop.
