Merrimack, NH-based Brookstone Inc. reported its direct marketing profits increased more than 73% to $11 million, based on sales that rose nearly 21% to $91 million for the fiscal year that ended Jan. 29.
The rise in sales takes into account nearly a 42% increase in catalog circulation, as well as a double-digit growth rate in Web site sales, which totaled 8.7% of all sales for the year.
“Driven by the strength of our Brookstone catalog and our Web site, as well as our strategy to leverage the synergy of all our sales channels, our direct marketing business delivered a record breaking performance,” said company chairman, president and CEO Michael Anthony, in a prepared statement.
Brookstone’s total sales climbed 14.9% to $499 million for its most recent fiscal year, which includes its retail sales.
