Just wanted to say that I loved your comments on “Brave New Workplace” (DIRECT, October).
I’ve been there too! It really is changing. I remember when I was at Lintas after Frank Vos and I sold the Vos Co. to them. They had IBM [as a client] at the time, and I had to keep a white shirt in [my desk] drawer in case I had to go up to see them at the last minute. It’s a lot different now.
I guess in certain circles the suit and tie is still necessary. But I like the corporate casual [code] and have no problem as long as the work gets out. Sounds like you feel the same.
