Canada Post Borderfree has opened a second distribution center in the U.S. for shipping catalog orders to Canada. The Toronto-based firm ships packages for catalogers and Internet marketers.
Its new facility located in Chicago will handle shipments for such firms as Brookstone, Crate and Barrel and Guess.
Borderfree, which is backed by Canada Post Corp., has projected a 70% increase in shipping business this year for its original distribution center, located in Taylor, MI.
More than 80 U.S. firms are generating business via direct marketing in Canada, according to Patrick Bartlett, president of Borderfree. Last year only 35 major U.S. firms had catalogs circulating in Canada.
